Overview
The picturesque and serene Hamlet of Pocantico Hills is part of the Town of Mount Pleasant which includes also the villages of Sleepy Hollow and Pleasantville, as well as the hamlets of Hawthorne, Valhalla and Thornwood. Pocantico Hills is actually a product of the Rockefeller clan's desire to shape and give the surroundings of their Family Estate Kykuit sort of a New England feel.
Almost all of the 40 or so homes have been moved from their original locations within the Rockefeller compound to their present day lots, some time during the late 1800's. Even the Union Church of Pocantico Hills, the neighboring Catholic Church of the Magdalene, the award winning Pocantico Hills Central School, the very well equipped Pocantico Hills Firehouse, the Stone Barns Agricultural Center featuring also the Blue Hill Restaurant & Cafe, the world renowned Rockefeller Archive Center, the brand-new Historic Hudson Valley Center, the sprawling, 1,400 acre Rockefeller State Park Preserve, and the Pocantico Hills Hamlet Green were all planned as well and are still supported or taken care of to some extent by Rockefeller family members and their various foundations.

The beautiful and charming Pocantico Hills hamlet is home to a little more than 40 homes of different styles and sizes which range in price from the mid 600,000's to multi-million-dollar estates. Many of these vintage homes offer interesting features and unique construction. There are of course also some newer homes which blend nicely into the overall New England look and feel of the hamlet. Most homes overlook either the forever Hamlet Green or various parts of the sprawling Rockefeller Preserve and State Park and convey the impression of being in the middle of an idylic countryside. However, the reality is that Pocantico Hills is located right in the middle of bustling Westchester County with easy access to New York City and the Tri-State area. Educational Facilities
The Pocantico Hills School District is made up of a recently renovated and updated Grammar and Middle School and graduates have the choice of transferring to the public High Schools of either Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow, Pleasantville or Briarcliff Manor. Recreational Facilities
Pocantico Hills offers a rather impressive list of recreational and educational opportunities for such a tiny community. There is the brand new Olympic size pool which opened in Summer of 2011, the new and improved baby pool, generous picnic areas, tennis courts, basketball / baseball / soccer and football fields, playgrounds, walking and horse riding trails, the Rockefeller Estate Kykuit, the Rockefeller Archives, the Stone Barns Agricultural Center with it's public farm displays and life stock exhibitions, and the acclaimed Blue Hill Restaurant.
